Leading British flat rider Hollie Doyle is set to face a spell on the sidelines after suffering a nasty fall on the Archie Watson trained The Perfect Crown in a seven-furlong claimer at Wolverhampton on Monday evening.
The superstar jockey who had another record breaking season last term on the flat, will have to watch from behind the rails for a few months after her mount broker down at Dunstall Park on the home bend, unfortunately suffering a fatal injury.
Doyle, walked away from the horrible incident holding her arm, but having now seen a specialist it has been determined that she has broken her elbow and it is too soon to set out a timescale for her return.
(Credit ATR) Her husband and fellow superstar jockey Tom Marquand said:“She has broken her elbow. We don’t really know how long she will be out for as she literally only had her MRIs last night.
“It is one of those fiddly things, as you could put a number on it and you’d be wrong every time anyway.
“To be honest, it is just a case of making sure she gets it right now, because you wouldn’t want to stop halfway through the summer. It is frustrating.”
