Today we are taking a look back at last year's renewal of the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes where Adayar for Godolphin took home the Group One event off the back of winning the Epsom Derby.
Adayar was one of Charlie Appleby's and Godolphin's leading lights last season having gone close in the Derby Trial at Lingfield, he then improved a hell of a lot to land the feature Classic event of the season.
Given enough time after the race to get himself right for the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, he saw off the challenge of Mishriff and Love, getting weight off the pair them.
Looking to then land the Arc he finished a valiant fourth behind stablemate Hurricane Lane, Tarnawa and shock winner Torquator Tasso.
Sent back to Ascot when last seen at the end of 2021, he ran below par in the British Champion Stakes and having picked up a set back this season he has not been seen since.
Enjoy!
