TWE Eye-Catchers Of The Week - 14/11/22

Betterment

Betterment is the first horse this week that was a big eye-catcher during the week with the Jane Chapple-Hyam trained filly looking a horse that could be on a dangerous mark heading into handicaps.

Showing very little form on her first three starts, she was given another run in Fillies' Novice Stakes last time out and showed at huge odds of 125/1 that she does have ability.

Sent into handicaps off the back of that run and off a mark of 52 makes her potentially well handicapped and worth keeping on side.

Riskintheground

Riskintheground for trainer Dan Skelton is a horse that will be winning races throughout his career when going into handicap company.

A fair bumper horse finishing second in November 2021 at Chepstow behind Hullnback, he then went Ascot in December and was a solid fifth in a bumper that worked out really well, with the likes of Henri The Second, Authorised Speed and Top Dog turning out to be good horses.

Sent hurdling this term off the back of a poor effort in his final bumper last term, he drifted on the day was not pressed to really try and it looked a race to help towards a good handicap mark.

Keep an eye on this horse.

Evenwood Sonofagun

The final horse for this weeks eye-catchers is the Fergal O'Brien trained Evenwood Sonofagun who joined from Ireland ahead of this season having been with Richard O'Brien.

A fair horse in Ireland he came over to England racing off a mark off 112 but having been bumped up to 118 for his first British start after a good second at Down Royal in August, he made his debut at Cheltenham.

Travelling well and looking set to make his challenge in a Maiden Hurdle over 2m 1/2f at Cheltenham he was unfortunately brought down by a horse slipping.

Over the same course and distance now in handicap company he caught the eye when coming off the pace and on what looks to be a decent mark he could be winning races.
