Happy Valley Each Way Double For Wednesday

The first horse in the each way double on Wednesday comes in the Class 3 Handicap over a mile and Smoothies takes the eye at a nice price.

The five year old has not shown much form over the last year at Hong Kong, but having dropped down to a very handy mark, last time out he showed signs of a revival.

Over course and distance at the start of February he finished a close fourth of 12 runners and runs in this event off the same mark.

He is now 2lb lower than his last winning mark and if backing up his latest run is a big player.

The final leg of the each way double comes in the penultimate event at the Hong Kong venue and it we have sided with the bottom weight Jazz Steed in the six furlong Handicap.

The five year old could be weighted to go well in this event, although jumping up in class, but has been knocking on the door in Class 4 company this year and deserves his chance at this level.

The gelding has been consistent this season, entering the frame in all four of his last runs, with two of them coming over course and distance, including placing in three events.

On both his runs this year he was seen finishing a good third over five furlongs and when upped to six furlongs last time out went one better into second.

Getting weight off the rest of the field and showing good form round the track, he is hard to rule out at a nice price.
