Happy Valley Wednesday Preview - 14/04/21

The first selection of the day comes in the six furlong Class 4 Handicap and Good Shot looks to have a huge chance if improving off the back of his last run.

The six year old has been in good form of late over course and distance, having finished second in his last two races, with his only blank coming when racing at Sha Tin.

In December he finished a length runner up on good ground and then last time out on good to firm ground he was another smart second.

He is only up another 1lb for his latest run and it gives him a bigger pull in the weights with Spontaneous, who he needs to reverse the form with.

The second division of the six furlong Handicap follows and in this one we are siding with Inno Legend with the gelding hitting form at the right time.

Having been hit and miss when it comes to form, the gelding last time out gave one of his best runs for a while when a superb second over course and distance in March.

He has been drawn in the prime number one stall for this event and only 2lb higher for this run makes him a huge player if being able to back up his latest run.

Stepping up to a mile for the next race on the card and it sees a Class 4 Handicap and Regency Master looks a very interesting runner with Zac Purton in the saddle.

The four year old has been a horse out of sorts on his first four runs of the season, but over course and distance last time out he was a extremely close second at a big price.

Having only gone up 2lb for that run when being touched off by a short head, he has a huge chance to back that up with Purton now doing the steering.

The penultimate event on the card is the Class 3 Handicap over a mile and the horse that takes the eye is Chevalier Prince.

The four year old needs to seriously reverse his form having blanked on both his starts this term over a mile at Sha Tin, but if getting back to his form at the back end of 2020 he has a big shout.

Before the turn of the year he won nicely over a mile at Sha Tin and then backed that up with a close fourth when stepped up to 9f.

He has been dropped 1lb for his latest run and could just get a resurgence in form for the move to Happy Valley.

The final event of the day at Happy Valley sees a 1m1f Class 2 Handicap and the ex John Gosden trained Tsar looks to finally be getting the hang of things in Hong Kong.

The four year old won three of his five events in England, including decent handicaps at Ascot and Yarmouth, with the quicker the ground the better.

He has been seen three times in Hong Kong and having needed his first experience, he finished a good second over 8.5f at the track and last time out at Sha Tin was sixth of 14.

Having been on a mark of 94 in England and only running off 82 in Hong Kong he could be seriously well in for the event.
