Stepney Causeway was an impressive winner at Catterick last time out but his main market rival completely bombed and that leaves question marks around the strength of the race.

He also has to concede 6lb to Gary Moore’s Casa Loupi who has twice finished second to the Triumph hurdle fancy Tritonic over hurdles.

The son of Casamento has registed a rating of 133 and if running to that level he will take all the beating.

Another juvenile that represents the Tritonic formalise is Vulcan for Doctor Newland.

This 4-y-o was useful on the flat and he was heavily backed to win his hurdle debut at Ascot so he must be showing them plenty at home.

He travelled with plenty of zest that day but he faded very quickly and with that often being a sign of wind issues it is interesting connections have given him surgery.

If he can replicate that performance and add a better finishing effort he will win this.

Jamie Spencer has to be feared on the market leader here but we are willing to oppose him with Margaret Dumont, who caught the eye when a never-nearer third on debut for Hugo Palmer.

The 4-y-o daughter of Camelot boasts some useful form from her 3-y-o campaign and her pedigree suggests she is the type to continue improving.

James Doyle is a positive jockey booking and the yard have being doing well on the all-weather.

Shutupshirley looks likely to benefit from this step up in trip on handicap debut.

Robert Walford is a shrewd-operator and this son of Saddler's Rock has been brought along patiently over what is likely to be an in-adequate distance.

This isn't a strong race so any sort of improvement should see him in the mix off a mark of 101.

At an each-way price Kapgarry looks interesting off a 1lb higher mark than when victorious in the race last year.

The 8-y-o hasn’t fired in two starts this season but he is still relatively unexposed over fences and he looks more than capable of bouncing back to form.

There is no obvious pace angle so Sam Twiston-Davies, who was aboard last year when making all, again has the option to race prominent.

John Gosden's runners have to be noted when making the trip here and this impeccably bred son of Golden Horn went into the tracker when finishing well over a shorter distance last time out.

That race looks a maiden worth following going forward and Trawlerman may be the first horse to come out and enhance the form.

He has an entry in the Derby and is the first choice on jockey bookings.
