First up is the bet365 Handicap over 1m2f and we are siding with the John Gosden trained Peter The Great who looks an extremely versatile type.

The three year old has been seen three times to date and has improved massively for every run and now heading into this handicap looks to be extremely well weighted.

Peter The Great made his debut at Newmarket over a mile in April when landing the competitive Wood Ditton Maiden Stakes and the form of that race has worked out well with the second, third and fourth winning next time out.

The son of New Approach was a good second next time out behind the smart Nagano who has since won again and on his latest start the three year old got back to winning ways over course and distance when landing a Novice Stakes.

He steps into a handicap for the first time off a mark of 92 and looks the one to beat if progressing again.

The first race on ITV from York on Friday is the 1m4f Class 4 Handicap and the horse that takes the eye is the Eve Johnston Houghton trained Noble Masquerade.

The gelding is weighted well in the field off the back of what he has done this season, placing three times and getting off the mark last time out.

Two starts ago at Sandown on soft ground he was a good second over 1m2f and he then backed that up over 11f at Kempton when winning comfortably off a mark of 72.

Only 3lb higher on Friday and back on soft ground, everything looks to be in her favour to go well once more.

The Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes over six furlongs sees some of the best sprinting juveniles go to post and we fancy Hello You to reverse the form with the favourite.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit bounced onto the scene in May bolting up in a Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton by close to seven lengths.

Off the back of that he went to Royal Ascot and was pitched into the Group Three Albany Stakes where he finished a good second behind Sandrine.

The ground was heavy that day and won't be as soft on Friday, which could see Hello You reverse the form with the Andrew Balding horse.

The final runner from York for us comes in the Group Three Summer Stakes over six furlongs and Dandalla looks to be the horse in the field that is overpriced.

The three year old was an exceptional juvenile landing a hat-trick of events at the start of her career including the Group Two Duchess Of Cambridge at this meeting last season.

This year she struggled at the start of the season stepping up to 7f and not staying the trip and then at Haydock two starts ago not running her race.

However, last time out she was back to her best when a good fourth in the Group One Commonwealth Cup and anything similar to that run puts her in the mix, dropping back into Group Three company.

The bet365 Trophy is always a tough race for punters but we think we have found a solid each way pick with Global Storm for Charlie Appleby.

This season the four year old has stepped up massively in trip and has revelled in it, making his seasonal debut in Britain in May and he finished a good second behind the smart Zabeel Champion at Newmarket.

Off the back of that he went up to 14f and on his first try at the trip won well over course and distance at Newmarket.

The son of Night And Thunder was last seen finishing a staying on third in the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot and having only gone up 2lb for that run he looks a live player once more.

The feature race of the day on Friday is the Group One Falmouth Stakes and the consistent Mother Earth can get back to winning ways.

Mother Earth has been one of the stars of the mile fillies division this term running superbly in two Group One events and off the back of those she is the worthy favourite for this event.

The filly was a fair juvenile landing a Group Three event on her third start, and then towards the end of last season finishing second at the Breeders' Cup meeting in a Group One and also finishing a good third in the Group One Fillies' Mile.

The yard did not know what to expect for the daughter of Zoffany but on seasonal debut this term she managed to land the 1000 Guineas in taking style.

Off the back of that she was sent to France looking to land the 1000 Guineas double, but she could only finish second, giving another good account of herself.

Last time out the filly was seen finishing a close third behind Alcohol Free and Snow Lantern and will need to reverse the form but getting nicer ground could be the key.
