With the Irish 2000 Guineas now just a day away we are playing homage to the great race and looking back at some of its great winners and today we are going back to the 2017 renewal of the race.
Fresh off the back of a trip to Newmarket to land the British 2000 Guineas, Churchill for Aidan O'Brien was entered into the Irish Classic and became part of a select club to land both Group One races in the same season.
Churchill was a stand out horse for his master trainer that i'm sure will go on to do great things as a sire but for now we can look back at his brilliance which saw him put away a strong field of runners at the Curragh, which included dual Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow.
