Enable

Today we are taking a look back at the 2020 renewal of the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes where the Queen of racing Enable landed her third event in this.

A career record of 15 wins from 19 runs including 11 Group 1 victories, Enable was comfortably been the face of horse racing in her time on the track and unfortunately she bowed out after an unsuccessful attempt at achieving greatness in the Arc at Longchamp in 2020.

Her career kicked off with an impressive three length victory at Newcastle in November of 2016 but she then suffered one of four career defeats when returning at Newbury in April of 2017. This however was when her luck changed.

She then won 12 races on the bounce including 10 Group 1s with victories in the Epsom Oaks, Arc, Breeders Cup and the Irish Oaks and three King George's all standing out.

Age caught up with her with just two wins coming from her last five runs and her final swan song coming in the 2020 Arc on ground which could only be described as bottomless.

Enjoy!
