Trainer To Follow - Charlie Appleby

Charlie Appleby loves having winners at this meeting and on the first day has some stand out chances starting in the opener which sees Castle Way look a value price in the Group Three Bahrain Trophy Stakes.

One of the trainers best chances on the afternoon according to the betting sees Adayar as the 4/11 favourite in the Group Two Princess Of Wales's Stakes over 1m4f with the horse looking a class above the field.

The final runner for the yard comes in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes over a mile and Imperial Emperor is unbeaten in both his starts to date and could make it three out of three.

Appleby heads into the meeting sporting a strike rate of 44% for the last two weeks, managing to land eight winners from his last 18 runners.

Jockey To Follow - Ryan Moore

Ryan Moore is having another fine season especially at the big festivals and on the first day of the July Cup meeting he has a handful of classy rides.

In the first race of the day he sits on Tower Of London for Aidan O'Brien and currently the second favourite for the St Leger, he could be the favourite by the end of the race if going on to land the odds.

Moore then rides for his retained trainer again in the Group Two Kingdom Of Bahrain July Stakes over 6f and Mountain Bear has the pedigree to be very pacy.

He then rides the second favourite Washington Heights in the bet365 Handicap who is extremely consistent and in the feature event of the afternoon gets the leg up on the outsider Grand Alliance who could be overlooked in the betting for the Group Two Princess Of Wales's Stakes.

Moore finishes the card with two big chances, starting on the talented Nostrum in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes and Bodorgan in the Boodles Handicap.

The rider heads into the days play currently running at a 41% strike rate for the last two weeks, managing to land 11 winners from his last 27 rides.
