Who To Follow On Day Two At Doncaster

Horse To Follow - Persuasion

The penultimate race of the day at Town Moor on Thursday brings the seven furlong Class 2 Handicap and at an each way price Persuasion for trainer Charles Hills is our horse to follow.

The three year old will be ridden by Frankie Dettori which is a very eye-catching jockey booking especially for this trainer.

As a juvenile the colt was smart, getting off the mark at the first time of asking and since then has placed behind Wichita in a Group Three.

He made his seasonal debut in the 2000 Guineas and was outclassed but now dropping down to an easier level should give a good account of himself.

Trainer To Follow - Charles Hills

Charles Hills has a selection of nice runners on Thursday and they have also come out at some nice prices with each way betting the way to go.

The handler has been in some smart form of late with five winners from 23 runners over the last fortnight which has seen him pose a strike rate of 21.74%.

He has had one winner from his 10 runners at the track this year and he will be looking to add to that with Persuasion and Prado his best chances on the day.

Jockey To Follow - Andrea Atzeni

Andrea Atzeni has been known as a Doncaster specialist over the years landing winners at track frequently which sees him have a 20.22% strike rate from his 371 rides at the racecourse.

From those rides the figures read remarkably well with 75 winners and 73 places and if you had backed the jockey from his first ever ride at Town Moor you would be seeing a £39.91 profit from a £1 level stake.

On Thursday he has some really nice rides for his retained owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid with Zabeel Queen in the May Hill Stakes and Cairn Island in the race after.

He is a jockey to keep on side.
