Who To Follow On The Day One Of The Ebor Meeting 2023

James Mackie | @JMackieRacing

Trainer To Follow - Ralph Beckett

Ralph Beckett has been in scintillating form this season and heads into the Ebor meeting currently running at a strike rate of 28% for the last two weeks having had 12 winners from 43 runners.

He doesn't send many runners on the first day but a lot of them seem to have chances starting with Artistic Star in the Group Two Great Voltigeur Stakes who could outrun his odds of 18/1.

His best chance of the afternoon comes in the finale with Starlust topping the market in the Nursery Handicap over 6f, holding some leading form.

The yard also have Mayo Neighs who is looking to outrun his odds of 20/1 and can do off a mark of 84.

Jockey To Follow - Jason Hart

Jason Hart has had a fantastic season to date especially at some of the bigger summer festivals throughout the season and he can make a great start to the Ebor meeting on the first day.

He has a big chance in the opener with Jm Jungle who was a nice winner at Glorious Goodwood last time out and now eyeing a hat-trick off only 5lb higher makes him a player.

Hart also rides the favourite in the Group Three Acomb Stakes with Ballymount Boy although on different ground could be tough to beat holding leading form.

Other rides for the jockey across the day are La Pulga in the Stayers Handicap who might improve for the step up in trip and Barnwell Boy who is looking to bounce back to form in the Nursery Handicap.
