ITV Racing Preview From Kelso, Doncaster and Newbury

13:50 Doncaster - The 888Sport Handicap Hurdle Race

Doncaster host a stellar card on Saturday and in the first race of the day in the Class 2 Handicap Hurdle we have gone with the David Pipe Remastered.

The seven year old gelding holds plenty of ability and showed it two starts ago when a good second of 10 runners behind the eventual Welsh Grand National winner.

Staying seems to be his game and although being pulled up last time out in a grade Three this drop back in class should see him give a better performance.

14:05 Newbury - The William Hill Supporting Greatwood Veterans' Handicap Steeple Chase

Theatre Guide goes for us in the Greatwood Veteran's Handicap Chase over three miles two furlongs and this Colin Tizzard trained 13 year old has been a consistent stayer for many years.

The gelding does his best work the further he goes with a good second in this contest last season which shows he stays the trip well.

Last time out he finished a smart third in a similar event at Sandown when staying on well from the back to narrowly finish third on the line and that sets the form for us.

14:25 Doncaster - The 888Sport Bet £10 Get £30 Handicap Steeple Chase

Another Class 2 Handicap follows this time over the bigger obstacles and Dalila Du Seuil for Harry Fry looks a nice each way price.

The seven year old mare has only raced twice this season and looks primed for a big effort getting better with every outing finishing fifth on her seasonal debut before a much better second at Huntingdon.

That came in a Listed contest behind the Dan Skelton trained Marie Banrigh who looks to have a big chance in the Arkle and that is some strong form.

14:45 Kelso - The William Hill Premier Novices' Hurdle Race (Grade 2)

Kelso only host one race on the ITV broadcast this weekend and it is the Grade Two Premier Novices' Hurdle over two miles two furlongs and we are siding with Calva D'Auge.

The Paul Nicholls trained five year old has been nearly faultless all season winning his last two in great style with the last run coming at Plumpton just outstaying a bright youngster for Nicky Henderson.

Before that he ran in the Grade One Tolworth Hurdle finishing a decent fourth behind some really strong horses including Fiddlerontheroof and that looks a solid form line.

15:00 Doncaster - The 888Sport Take 'Em On Mares' Novices' Hurdle Race (Listed Race)

The Paul Nicholls trained Cill Anna looks the pick of the bunch in the Listed Mares Novices Hurdle at Doncaster at the weekend and is our fancy.

The five year old mare has made huge strides forward this term after starting over bumpers in October and not running to bad standard but over hurdles she has looked a different animal.

She went to Wincanton in December and finished a strong third of 13 behind a nice type for Tom Lacey and since then she has used that to be unbeaten in her next two contests.

The pacy mare headed to Warwick in a Mares Novices Hurdle and when taking on a decent runner for the Skelton's she stuck to the task well to land her first contest over timber.

She added to this next time out at Wincanton when beating a much better field in a similar event and now stepping up to Listed company she looks the pick of the ante-post field.

15:15 Newbury - The William Hill Supporting Greatwood Gold Cup Handicap Steeple Chase (Grade 3)

The feature race of the day at Newbury is the Grade Three Greatwood Gold Cup Handicap and with a decent amount of runners heading to post we have two big fancies.

Both runners come from the Paul Nicholls yard with the 11 time champion trainer winning nine of the last 15 renewals which is just remarkable.

The first fancy is Mont Des Avaloirs and this seven year old has been backed all week to land this event having finished second on his last two outings, with the latter coming at Newbury over three miles.

The step back in trip is exactly what is needed for him to flourish having just been outstayed at the start of the month.

The second runner advertised as each way is last year's winner of the race San Benedeto who has the handy five pound claimer Bryan Carver on board.

The nine year old finished a smart fourth over course and distance in November behind better horses than in this race and it would not be a surprise to see him go well at a track he likes.
