Leading trainers and Betfair Ambassador's Paul Nicholls, Joseph O'Brien and Olly Murphy have given some key quotes about some of their horses running on day two of the Cheltenham festival...
“He returns to Cheltenham as the reigning champion and has been a wonderful flagship for the yard. He put up a brilliant performance 12 months ago when the race cut up a bit at the last minute. Although he is tough and reliable there's no denying this is a stronger renewal with the favourite Chacon Pour Soi looking hard to beat if he takes to the track. Politologue worked with all his usual enthusiasm at Wincanton last week. This is his sixth appearance at the Festival which is a remarkable feat, the course suits him and we know he will not let us down.”

“Us And Them comes into this with a more exposed profile than my other two in the race, but his credentials should be clear for all to see with him having finished third in this race last year. Despite four below-form runs since then, the handicapper hasn't given him much relief and he is only 1lb lower than last year. However, his recent work has been good, so we are hopeful that he might be able to return to that sort of form back in familiar surroundings.”

“Thomas Darby is in great form, albeit he has top-weight to carry. I've fitted him with cheekpieces for the first time and I think a strongly-run race will suit him well. I'm really looking forward to running him and fingers crossed with a bit of luck in-running he can go well.”

“The Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup (16:15) can always be relied upon to be a chaotic and fiercely-competitive contest. Betfair ambassador Joseph O'Brien looks to have a particularly strong hand with three contenders that all have strong cases to be made for them, but my marginal preference is for the one that is the biggest price of the three, Us And Them.”
