Fact To File Delivers in Ryanair Chase

The decision to divert Fact To File to the Ryanair Chase was vindicated on day three of the Cheltenham Festival, as the Willie Mullins runner was a dominant winner of the Grade One.

The eight-year-old for owner J P McManus always looked in control of the race, and eventually finished nine lengths clear of Heart Wood.

All attention quickly turns to Mullins' stable star on Friday, as Galopin Des Champs goes in search of a third straight Gold Cup.

Blackmore Doubles Up

Day three was an excellent one for the Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore combination, beginning with a shock win in the Mares Novices' Hurdle with Air Of Entitlement.

However, a bigger surprise was sprung in the Stayers' Hurdle, as Bob Olinger got up late to beat Teahupoo. The win means that the ten-year-old now has three Festival wins to his name.

The wins were special moments for Blackmore, who now has 18 victories at the Festival.

Caldwell Potter Delivers on Promise

Big-money purchase Caldwell Potter was a special winner of the Jack Richards Novices' Chase, just weeks after the death of John Hales.

The victory delivered a 50th Festival success for Paul Nicholls, and it was a first win for connections since paying big money for the seven-year-old.

Another special moment at the Festival was delivered in the Pertemps Final, as Nicky Henderson-trained Doddiethegreat was a 25/1 winner.

A close finish followed in the final race of the day, as Daily Present got up late to beat Johnnywho by a neck in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup.
