The first selection of the day from us on Saturday at The Curragh is Shinkansen for Donnacha O'Brien in the six furlongs Maiden.

The two year old son of Caravaggio was bought for €110,000 and made his debut at Cork on yielding ground and managed to give a good account of himself when staying on well to finish fifth.

On Saturday he is getting much quicker ground and should be a lot more streetwise to the task at hand getting experience from his debut run.

This is Caravaggio's first season as a sire and if like some of his other offsprings all ready this season, this lad could be very smart.

Next up is the Is the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race over five furlongs and the unbeaten Cadamosto for Aidan O'Brien could just be a class above these.

The son of No Nay Never made his debut at Dundalk just over a week ago and looked a smart performer when dominating the field.

He makes his turf debut on Saturday and if being able to turn around quickly, showed enough speed and ability to go and get a quick-fire double on his turf debut.

The penultimate selection from The Curragh comes in the Group Three Gladness Stakes over seven furlongs and Know It All for Johnny Murtagh is the horse we are siding with.

The four year old filly has been a very consistent horse for the yard over the last few years winning two of her eight events, but always seems to be in the frame.

Last season she was seen four times making her debut at Leopardstown on quick ground when finishing a close second in a Group Three behind Love Locket.

She then stepped up to a mile at the same track and got off the mark for the season in a Group Three, showing clear stamina in the end to go away from the field.

Murtagh then sent her to France doe the Group One Prix Rothschild and she was a smart third behind Watch Me and Half Light, who are both class acts.

The filly was last seen on Irish Champions Weekend at Leopardstown in the Group One Matron Stakes over a mile and she managed to finish a good fourth behind Champers Elysees, Peaceful and Fancy Blue, who all have classy black type form.

She steps down into this Group Three on Saturday and having gone well fresh before looks to be the value angle for a stable that could have another good year.

Noel Meade

Weight: 9-8

The final selection of the afternoon comes in the Group Three Alleged Stakes over 1m2f and at a nice each way price Helvic Dream for Noel Meade could cause an upset.

The four year old was progressive last term placing nicely at Killarney and The Curragh between a mile and 10f and then got off the mark for the season over today's course and distance in the Group Three International Stakes.

He could not recreate the form on his next two runs, with the soft/heavy ground going against him and getting back on a sounder surface should see him go better.

Having Group Three form last season makes him a contender and he could sneak a place at a big price.
