Its that time again during the week where we reveal another ante-post selection for the Cheltenham festival and this time we are looking into the Champion Bumper on the Wednesday of the meeting.
The Champion Bumper has always been a minefield for punters with plenty of big priced horses winning over the last few seasons and we feel we have found another one of those.
Energumene for trainer Willie Mullins is currently 50/1 to take the spoils in March and we believe this horse has some serious potential that when he shows it will not be that price anymore.
This five year old was highly thought of last season off the back of his only run in a point to point when bolting up and being sold for €50,000 and joining Mullins' yard.
After picking up an injury last season he did not run at all but this season started his campaign at the start of November in a two mile bumper at Navan.
He finished third that day which was good enough for a first time out performance having not run since the start of 2018 and he will be sure to come on for that.
Willie Mullins has a superb record in this contest winning it five times since 2002 and we believe he could land another with this big priced runner.
