A trainer on Friday is looking to have a winner at Doncaster over the jumps, sending just one runner to Town Moor on the day, which sees the handler make a 476 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
The trainer in question is David Pipe who boasts an impressive 21% strike rate with horses travelling at least this distance.
His runner, Paricolor, produced a careers best run last time out at Cheltenham, outrunning his longshot 50/1 odds to finish runner-up over 2m 5f in a class 3 event.
Today he is upped to 3 miles for the first time, is unexposed over that trip, and given the manner of how he stayed on at the line last time out, he looks well worth a go at this distance with progression a good possibility.
He's been dropped in grade to a class 4 and can give his running here with 7lb claimer Philip Armson retained in the saddle.
