The G2 Mares' Hurdle sees the return of Kargese for the Willie Mullins team today.

Kargese was one of the standout juvenile hurdlers last season, finishing second in the G1 Triumph Hurdle behind Majborough, before finishing second behind Sir Giron at Aintree and winning the G1 Champion Four Year Old Hurdle.

Is yet to finish outside of the first two under rules, and looks set to take high standing in the mares' races over the coming months.

Kotmask represents the Gary & Josh Moore yard in the 14:15 at Ascot today.

The seven-year-old has an excellent record at Ascot, finishing in the first three on all three previous visits. That includes a win over two miles and three at the course on December 21, beating Scarface by over a length.

Solid claims on the strength of that form, and is likely to be thereabouts once again with Caolin Quinn aboard.

A competitive handicap hurdle is due off at 14:50 today, and Altobelli could be hard to beat.

The Harry Fry runner has won twice from seven starts over hurdles. He boasts a solid record over hurdles, including a pleasing third when just a length behind Luccia over a mile and seven in December.

Cheekpieces go on today, and that could sharpen up his jumping.

Nicky Henderson-trained superstar Jonbon will take on Energumene in the featured G1 Clarence House Chase today.

The nine-year-old has emerged as the leading player in the two-mile division this season, and has been excellent on both starts this season.

His most recent win was secured over a mile and seven when beating Qulixios by eight lengths in the G1 Tingle Creek. Deserves major respect in this heavyweight showdown.

Country Park represents the Jonjo & AJ O'Neill yard in the 16:02 at Ascot today.

The six-year-old travelled like the winner on his latest start over two miles and five, looking set to take the race before falling at the second last fence.

That dominant showing over course and distance makes him a leading contender today if feeling no adverse effects from his fall last time. Looks a winner in waiting.
