It was one punters lucky day in Australia after he found out he had landed a bet on the Melbourne Cup that saw returns of of almost A$800,000 (£425,000) from just a A$10 stake.
The male had placed a bet on the outcome of the first four runners home in the Group one Australian feature and needed Vow And Declare to win, Prince Of Arran to finish second, Il Paradiso to come third and Master Of Reality to take fourth.
When the race had finished he thought his dreams were over with him having the first four but not in the right order with originally Master Of Reality for trainer Joseph O'Brien coming home second.
However, the stewards immediately called am enquiry and judged that jockey Frankie Dettori and his horse had veered across the track causing damage to the finish of the other horses and in dramatic fashion was demoted to fourth with the other places all bumped up one.
With the final results now official it gave the punter everything he needed to land the bet with all four horses in the correct positions seeing one the greatest punts ever seen in the sport.
The demotion to the delight of the punter ultimately made him A$793,842 but cost the connections of Master Of Reality A$750,000.
This truly is one of the greatest betting stories for a long time and may never be seen again in such a competitive race to call with 24 runners heading to post for the race.
