Blended Strength is the runner from the Lizzie Quinlan yard in the opening race at Ayr on Monday. The eight-year-old will have Peter Kavanagh aboard today.

The gelding is winless in 33 starts under rules but has run to great credit over course and distance previously. He was last seen finishing ninth of ten over an inadequate trip at Hexham in early December, and should post a renewed effort now back up to a mile and five.

His best efforts have come on more testing ground, including when third behind Skyjack Hijack over three miles on heavy at Carlisle in August.

Maghlaak looks like a very interesting contender for the Adrian Paul Keatley yard in the penultimate race on the card at Ayr on Monday.

The six-year-old will have James Robottom aboard, and he has won twice from five starts over hurdles. He was a dominant winner on his latest effort, beating Belle Na Bann by over 14 lengths over an extended mile and seven on soft ground.

Is penalised for that win, but he remains more forward than many of his rivals in this race at Ayr on Monday.

Kevlar is one of the few runners with previous racecourse experience in the finale at Ayr on Monday. The Ewan Williams runner is the ride of Brian Hughes, who has been striking at 19% over the last two weeks.

There were plenty of positives to take from his debut outing when staying on to finish a close third behind Swingingonthesteel over a mile and seven at Musselburgh.

Was sent off at a shortish price on that occasion, and should be capable of going a few places better today.
