Ayr (13:10) Tip - Ballyfort

Nick Alexander saddles Ballyfort in the 13:10 at Ayr today.

The seven-year-old remains winless under rules, but comes into this race today after a fine effort on his return over hurdles. He jumped well, but was denied by Rock On Jet.

That was a pleasing return over smaller obstacles, and he is likely to give another good account with Bruce Lynn aboard now up in trip.

BALLYFORT @ 13/8

Ayr (13:40) Tip - Lewa House

Lewa House is the runner from the Catch Bissett yard in the 13:40 today, with Dominic Hislop booked to take the ride.

The nine-year-old will be making his first start following wind surgery today. He was last seen finishing sixth of 18 over two miles and four at Ayr in early January.

He has faded in the closing stages after being competitive on each of his three starts this season, meaning he holds very interesting claims if wind surgery has had the desired effect.

LEWA HOUSE @ 9/1

Ayr (15:45) Tip - Half Track

Half Track represents the Nick Alexander yard in the 15:45 today.

The nine-year-old won a novice event at Ayr in 2021, but his form has been mixed since. Was seen to best effect over two miles and three on soft ground at Carlisle in early December.

Was far from disgraced when stepping up to three miles at Haydock last time, and a return to a better surface could see him fare better off a handy mark.

HALF TRACK @ 31/5

Ayr (16:20) Tip - Wotsmyname

Wotsmyname could be an interesting selection at a bigger price for the Leonard Kerr yard in the 16:20 today.

The eight-year-old is yet to win in 18 starts under rules, but he showed plenty of ability on his third start over fences last time out.

He jumped much better over two miles and four at Newcastle, and was only narrowly denied when finishing a length behind The Jad Factor. The step up to three miles should suit, and he holds each-way claims at the very least.
