Immortal Flame may be the outsider in the Novices' Handicap Chase, but the eight-year-old may be overlooked in the betting. Making his first start for trainer Deborah Cole, he had a moderate record over hurdles, winning five from 15 starts.

However, chasing appears to be his game. Immortal Flame was pulled up on his latest start, but he was eye-catching when second on his first start over fences in November 2022, finishing second behind Everyday Champagne.

Things went slightly amiss over the bigger obstacles following that effort, finishing eighth at Uttoxeter over two miles and four, and eighth over two miles and five at Ffos Las.

Dropping back to an extended two miles and four, as well as a return to more favourable ground could spark a revival.

Little Miss Dante makes her first start since a wind op at Bangor-on-Dee on Tuesday. The six-year-old represents a red-hot Olly Murphy yard, which is currently operating at a 28% strike rate.

The mare was pulled up in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen, but showed plenty of potential over hurdles earlier in the 2023-24 season.

She was a winner on her first start over obstacles, finishing five lengths clear of Hombre De Guerra at Ayr, before following up with another dominant success at Uttoxeter in the National Hunt Novices' Hurdle.

The trip poses few concerns after finishing well to take third over two miles and three at Haydock behind Pawapuri in the listed Mares Novices' Hurdle. Looks an excellent chance for connections that have started the season in strong form.
