Today we have taken a look back at the latest renewal of the Irish Grand National with the last event being run at Fairyhouse in 2019 and today we crown a new winner.
Due to the current crisis in the world, there was no Irish Grand National in 2020, but back in 2019 Burrows Saint for Willie Mullins landed the event, to also give Ruby Walsh a third success in the race.
To win any national race across the season, the one thing you need to be is a thorough stayer and this horse is exactly that, not finding all that much off the bridle, but staying on it until the final fence.
Having landed this event, it has since seen him prepare for the Aintree Grand National on Saturday and he holds one of the best chances for the Irish.
In the colours of Rich Ricci Burrows Saint was chased down by stablemates Isleofhopeanddreams and Acapella Bourgeois, but did enough to take the contest.
This saw the master of Closutton land his first ever Irish Grand National and also take home a 1-2-3 in the race.
Enjoy!
