May 11th looks to be a big date for French racing as they host their first meeting of the flat season and first race day since being suspended back on March 17th.
Overall, it has been a very trying time for the sport but we look to be coming out the other side of it now and at ParisLongchamp on Monday there is set to be a stellar cast of runners on show.
Group One winners Earthlight, Victor Ludorum and Sottsass all feature for what looks set to be a blockbuster day of racing in France on Monday, with the race day all about trials for the major classic contests in the country this season.
The Andre Fabre trained Earthlight bounced onto the racing scene last season when winning all five of his races and staying unbeaten, signing off his season with back to back black type successes in France with the Prix Morny and the last coming at Newmarket in the Middle Park Stakes.
Another of Fabre's leading lights this season is Victor Ludorum who also managed to stay unbeaten on all three of his starts and rounded off a successful two year old campaign at the Arc meeting with a Group One victory.
Both of these superstars are among 12 possibles for the Group Three Prix de Fontainebleau over a mile.
The other big star on show is the Jean-Claude Rouget’s Sottsass, who won the French Derby and finished a fine third to Waldgeist and Enable in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, is one of 13 given an engagement in Group Two Prix D’Harcourt.
