Leading trainer Mark Johnston fields a runner at Baden-Baden in Germany on Wednesday, looking to land a winner in the Group Three Albrecht Woeste Zukunftsrennen over seven furlongs.
Johnston sends over the two year old filly Qipao with Joe Fanning also making the trip over to ride the daughter of Muhaarar.
Costing 50,000gns as a yearling the juvenile made her debut in June at Hamilton, getting off the mark at the first time over six furlongs, beating a next time out winner.
Qipao then went to Chelmsford in a three runner race and dominated throughout to score by close to four lengths.
last time out she was sent to Sandown in the Listed Star Star Stakes over seven furlongs and she finished a fair fourth behind some very talented runners.
She will need to give a career best to land this event in Germany but looks highly progressive and Johnston would not be sending her over if he didn't think she was good enough.
Soft ground brings new challenges.
