Emotional Roller could hold solid claims for the Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith team at Carlisle on Monday.

The six-year-old has dropped down the weights after failing to win in eight career starts under rules. The gelding struggled throughout the summer, finishing ninth at Worcester over two miles and seven on his latest effort in August.

However, he could be a dangerous player now back in trip, with his excellent third behind Elogio at Wetherby over two miles and three being a key form angle. Similar conditions are likely this week, and he could make a winning start for new connections if near that level.

Donald McCain-trained Rock Hurley could be an interesting contender in the 14:30 at Carlisle on Monday. The six-year-old will have Theo Gillard aboard this week, as he looks for a third win in eleven starts over hurdles.

Was shown to best effect during his time in France, winning on two starts over obstacles. Is yet to show that level of form to this point, but should be suited to a drop down to two miles and one this week.

He was last seen finishing fifth of seven on very testing ground at Catterick in February.

A competitive bumper rounds off the card at Carlisle on Monday. Roses All The Way is preferred to make a winning start under rules.

The five-year-old mare was second in her point-to-point, finishing just a length behind subsequent bumper winner Taxus Baccata.

Has solid form claims compared to most of her rivals in the race on Monday, and former champion jockey Brian Hughes is booked to take the ride over two miles and one at Carlisle today.
