It was not a good start to the Wednesday fixtures in the UK as both Hereford AND Catterick have been called off, leaving Lingfield as the sole remaining card this afternoon.
Catterick confirmed early this morning through their social media accounts, that following blistering overnight temperatures of -5C and only forecasting temperatures to rise to just +2C, racing was abandoned.
Shortly after a 9am inspection, Hereford also called quits on their seven-race card due to a frozen surface.
So with two jumps fixtures off, it paves the way for attentions to turn to the All-weather on the flat at Lingfield.
There is plenty to get stuck into, including an intriguing Class Two Betway Handicap over ten furlongs, headlined by the likes of Pactolus, Abe Lincoln and Caspar The Cub.
Kempton keeps the lights on to finish a day without jumps, whilst also this evening, the 2018 Longines World's Best Horse Race Ceremony takes place at The Landmark Hotel in London.
