Champion Jockey Oisin Murphy could be spending a lengthy amount of time on the sidelines after testing positive for cocaine while riding in France back in July.
The 25 year old Irishman gave a urine sample back on the 19th of July when riding at Chantilly and the test has returned metabolites of the drug cocaine.
However, on the same day of finding out his A sample was positive, Murphy sent hair samples to a lab to be analysed where he was looking to clear his name and they returned no trace of the substance.
Murphy said on Twitter: "I have never taken cocaine in my life and will fight to clear my name."
"I want to thank those who are supporting me and in the meantime I want to keep riding winners and focus on my career.
"I will have no further comment to make and wish to respect the processes of France Galop."
The results have been shared with France Galop and Murphy is currently awaiting results of the French authority's analysis of his B sample.
Murphy is just two weeks away from lifting his second jockey championship in Britain and will hope that he will not incur a ban in the mean time which could jeopardise his chances of picking up the accolade on British Champions Day.
