⚫ Chepstow (14:15) - Range
⚫ Chepstow (14:50) - Haas Boy
Range is the runner for the Sam Thomas yard in the 14:15 at Chepstow on Friday. The seven-year-old carries top weight in the handicap chase, but he ticks plenty of boxes for an in-form team.
Sam Twiston Davies is booked to take the ride. Range was a promising novice hurdler last season, winning once on four starts, and ended the season in mid-March with a below-par effort over two miles and four at Uttoxeter.
Made his chase debut at Chepstow at the end of October, and was sent off as the 5/2 favourite. He travelled well on that day, before falling five from home. Should come on from that first start over fences, and very much one to keep on side.
Emma Lavelle has been striking at 29% over the last two weeks, and the yard could be among among the winners in the 14:50 at Chepstow on Friday.
Haas Boy has plenty going for him, winning won just once in 12 career starts over hurdles. He is yet to win over the bigger obstacles, finishing outside of the first three on his only start over fences.
Goes back over the bigger obstacles for the first time with his new yard, and shaped well on his return to action last month over hurdles when finishing third of eight at Hereford.
If he jumps better on this second start over fences, he holds obvious claims.
