⚫Chepstow (15:10 - Thor De Cerisy
⚫Chepstow (16:20) - The Final Word
Thor De Cerisy looks like an interesting play in the competitive handicap chase at Chepstow over an extended two miles and three.
The ten-year-old for trainer Neil Mulholland is a dual winner over course and distance this year, most recently being the only finisher in mid-March. Travelled extremely well on his start at Chepstow before that effort when beating Walkinthewoods by over four lengths.
Both wins have been recorded on heavy ground, but he's back down to a workable mark after being pulled up at Haydock at the end of last season. Connections are in strong recent form, with Mulholland operating at a 21% strike rate.
A competitive bumper rounds off the card at Chepstow on Tuesday. It hasn't been the easiest start to the season for the team of Harry Cobden and Paul Nicholls, but The Final Word could be a reason for confidence today.
The five-year-old was a big-money purchase for £70,000 after battling impressively to win in a point-to-point by a neck in February.
Makes his rules debut with the Nicholls team operating at 19%. Looks to be the one to beat on paper, and could prove to be the most interesting runner to follow as the year progresses.
