The 2018 renewal of the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow has this year been won by the 3/1 favourite Elegant Escape for Colin Tizzard in what was a great spectacle of racing.
To the punters delight one of the very few favourites during this festive period have actually went on to win but Elegant Escape landed the odds when finishing first past the post against his 19 other opponents.
Colin Tizzard went on to land this race with the favourite that day aswell back in 2016 with Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Native River.
This years wasn't as easy to watch as when coming to the back end of the race there was still three potential horses that could win the race, Yala Enki for Venetia Williams who ran a great race tailed off first.
This left Elegant Escape and the David Pipe trained Ramses De Teillee to battle it out and the Colin Tizzard eight year old looked to have it all wrapped up but Pipes six year old battled back and made Elegant Escape work for his win.
He was was eventually driven out by Tom O'Brien to go on and land the race by just over a length and top off what is a successful meeting for the Tizzard Yard.
