Queen of flat racing Enable is set to miss the Group One Yorkshire Oaks at York's Ebor meeting and instead will head to Kempton for the Group 3 September Stakes on the all weather.
John Gosden will take his superstar down a different Arc prep route this season after the six year old was narrowly beaten at Paris Longchamp by Waldgeist off the back of a demolition job in the Yorkshire Oaks.
In 2018 she landed her second Arc off the back of winning the Group 3 September Stakes on the Polytrack, seeing off Crystal Ocean by five lengths and connections want to go down the same route this year.
Enable this season has been as consistent as ever, starting her campaign in the Coral Eclipse just being denied by the Godolphin star Ghaiyyath but it acted a s a perfect prep run for the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which she landed for the third time in her career.
Having been earmarked to land the Yorkshire Oaks for the third time she went very short in the betting but will now head to Kempton instead.
Prince Khalid's Racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said: "Prince Khalid has decided that Enable's next start will be the September Stakes at Kempton on September 5.
"There's lots of reasons. We're looking at the Arc as the main objective and she's six years old now, we know she loves the Knavesmire but she's done well from the September Stakes as well and we thought that would be a way of getting her to the Arc in the best possible shape."
Enable was set to meet the 1000 Guineas and Epsom oaks winner Love for Aidan O'Brien at York but has now deferred that match up until the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe where Enable is the 5/2 favourite but closely followed by Love at 3/1.
