The John Gosden trained Franconia looks a highly exciting talent for the master trainer and owner Prince Khalid Abdullah and now connections are targeting her at the Musidora Stakes at York next week.
The three year old daughter of Frankel has only been twice on a racecourse during her short career, finishing a good second at Chelmsford on debut before massively improving on her seasonal debut this term when landing a Listed contest at Newbury.
The Group Three Musidora Stakes normally acts as a trial for the oaks but this year comes after the Classic event and it will hopefully be a stepping stone towards the filly being entered into Group One company in the autumn.
after her win at Newbury many thought she would head to the Oaks but Gosden revealed that her pedigree suggests she will be better sticking to 10 furlongs.

“Unfortunately this year is all a bit upside down.
“She’s a promising filly, (but) Newbury was only her second ever race.
“We have good faith in her, but we were never really tempted by the Oaks. We’ll just see how we go.”
