11 year old Veteran Simply Ned prevailed the winner of the Paddy Rewards Club Chase for the second year in a row and landed more Grade 1 success to his career.
The gallant gelding for trainer Nicky Richards went off at 14/1 and went on the prevail and although looking out of the race, jumped the last fence with plenty in hand and got up on the line to defy six time Grade 1 winning jumper Footpad.
The Willie Mullins trained six year old looked set to take his seventh black type success after pinging the last fence with Ruby Walsh but Simply Ned found a hell of a lot more to land the race.
Stablemate to the Munir and Souede trained horse was Great Field who looked to be mounting a challenge but smacked into the last and for the second race this season unseated his rider.
Footpad has now drifted out to 8/1 for the Queen Mother Champion Chase from 5s after not being able to get up against the veteran and also the amazing Altior landed the Grade 2 Desert Orchid Chase by over 20 lengths.
The Mullins horse looks nothing of the sorts of that he was last season as a novice, where the idea for this season was that he would be Altior's biggest competitor.
