With the weekend nearly upon us we thought we would try and get you in the mood with another great race throwback from the past few seasons and this contest in 2019 was the pinnacle as to why we love the sport.
We have gone back to the flat for todays race of the day and last season at Ascot the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes arguably gave us the best battle of the campaign.
The event was full of the best middle distance horses in the division with Ireland, Japan, England and France all represented by past Group One winners.
However, the race was all about two horses, the best of the British, the best mare against the best male horse in England and they could only be split by a head.
