Leading golfers in the world Brooks Koepka, Ricky Fowler and Phil Mickelson have all had horses named after them with American owner Brian Trump being a huge golf fan and naming his newly bought juveniles after the sports stars.
Trump, is the founder of the ownership group called Supreme Racing, not to be mixed up with the Irish group that have been in the news over the last few weeks, and the owner is hoping his three new youngsters can reach the heights of what American racing has to offer.
(Credit Racing Post) Brian Trump said: "Koepka is my most physically impressive horse. Much like Brooks, he is gifted with an athletic frame.
"Coupled with what has been described as confidence out on the track, I couldn’t have come up with a better fit than naming the horse after Brooks."
USA's leading trainer Bob Baffert who has won nearly all of the big races in the states during his elusive career including the Triple Crown with Justify back in 2018 will take hold of two of Trump's horses.
Baffert will take Koepka and also Mickelson who his connections are very fond of with thoughts of sending him down the Triple Crown angle.
"Mickelson the horse reminds me a bit of Phil in his personality,” Trump said.
"Like Phil, he tends to have a playful demeanour. Phil always seems to be having fun out on the course.
"Whether it's setting a record for most thumbs up in a round of golf on a single day or interacting with fans, he always seems to make people laugh and smile.
"Mickelson the horse has that same playfulness. He loves to play in the barn and always makes you smile when you're around him."
The last of three horses for the owner is Fowler who has been given to trainer Brad Cox and he has stated that the horses will not be matched with the famous orange colours of Ricky Fowler.
"The colour of the felt is out of the owner’s hands," Trump said. "He's not going to have a Puma logo anywhere either. We're hoping he develops into a silent assassin like Rickie."
