One of the more experienced horses in the field for a very much in form combination of Donald McCain and Brian Hughes, Richmond Lake who comes into this race fresh off the back of a 27-length romp at Sedgefield last month.
That was just a Class 4 novice event, and he takes a massive step up in Grade in this, but he did make all and jumped superbly, and in these sorts of races experience could count for something.
He is a two-time winner over hurdles already, and relishes the softer conditions, but does need to step up his form slightly to land a blow in this, but he has however won his two Hurdle races by a combined 42 lengths, so there is clearly talent in there for a very much in form team.
Two-time hurdle winner, winning both races by a combined 42 lengths, however, does need to step up his form to another level to win this stepping up in Grade.
Could fill the places.
