A representative for Edward Bethell, Fearby announced his name on the juvenile sprinting scene with a bloodless display in the Dragon Stakes.

Things looked to come too fast for him on debut and he weakened out of contention tamely. He took a huge step forward for his first outing and won as he pleased in maiden company at Wetherby.

He moved up into listed company with ease in the Dragon Stakes and left a smart field for dead with a lethal turn of foot.

His impressive performance has seen him garner a rating of 107, he’s officially the best in the field on paper so warrants respect.

Chipotle

Battle hardened for a 2 year old, Chipotle has already had five career runs.

A quick double was racked up between Doncaster and Ascot before soft ground blunted his turn of foot at Sandown.

He came home 6th of 7 runners in listed company but left that run behind on rattling fast ground at Royal Ascot to win the Windsor Castle.

Defying a low draw and long odds, Chipotle sprinted away from his rivals and left Dig Two, Boonie, Armor and Kaboo firmly in his wake.

Last seen in the Super Sprint Stakes at Newmarket recently, he was a warm favourite despite the huge field size but couldn’t see enough daylight to make his run count.

He’s turning out quickly but showed a lethal turn of foot to beat a host of these rivals in the Windsor Castle and is the one to beat on paper.

A 2 year old by More Than Ready out of Follow Moon, Kaboo gathered market support for his debut in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

He ran well for his first outing in such deep waters and finished 6th of the 27 runners.

With experience behind him, Kaboo was sent off favourite for the Dragon Stakes at Sandown earlier this month but simply couldn’t live with the raw pace of Fearby.

He looked to slightly regress from first run to second run, but with more experience to him he’ll likely come on again.

Fearby put 5 lengths between the at Sandown and Kaboo would have to come on bundles to reverse that form, but he can have a say in the placings.

A winner on debut for Richard Hannon, Armor confirmed market support to fend off a small field with relative ease.

Moved up in grade immediately for the Windsor Castle Stakes at Ascot last month, he ran well despite a low draw. Coming 3rd of 9 in his group and 5th overall, he was beaten nearly 3 lengths by Chipotle.

He’s only run on rattling fast ground so far, so the current soft going is a bit of an unknown quantity for him. He’ll have improved for the Ascot run but looks to have a mountain to climb to catch Chipotle.

Another from the Windsor Castle Stakes, Boonie was 3rd behind Chipotle in the 2 year old sprint for colt’s last month.
Boonie was an impressive winner on debut and easily shed his maiden by a wide margin at Beverley.

Sent off favourite for the Edinburgh Castle Conditions Stakes at Musselburgh, he and Secret Strength pulled clear with the latter just getting the better of Boonie by a neck in a tight finish.

He ran with credit in the Windsor Castle but there was clear daylight between him at Chipotle. Another who looks to have a big task to reverse the form of Royal Ascot.

A disappointing debut run for David Loughnane at Chester saw this son of Mehmas beaten out of sight.

He quickly left that poor run behind when coming 2nd at Goodwood over 6 furlongs, only being caught late on near the line.

Dropped to 5 furlongs at Sandown in mid June, he took a major step forward and absolutely bolted up under Pat Cosgrave at prohibitive odds.

With strong course form in the books, Mojomaker went for the Dragon Stakes at Sandown but was left chasing the shadow of Fearby to finish a well beaten 2nd.

Another who’s got good place credentials but looks well held on his form behind Fearby.

Days: 42

A filly for Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy, Nymphadora burst onto the scene with a brilliant display in the Marygate Stakes at York back in May.

The daughter of Nay Nay Never left behind an average debut run at Newmarket to claim listed honours on only her second career start, the form being franked since by the 2nd who’s won twice.

Last seen running in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot she didn’t have the clearest of passages after being outpaced.

A switch to a more speed favouring course might not suit but her form has worked out well and she gets weight from the boys.

Clive Cox

We don’t have much to go on for this Clive Cox trained colt as he’s only ran once but he left a good impression by winning on debut.

The form hasn’t been tested thoroughly since, but the 8th has come out and won since in the shape of Swayze, it doesn’t look the best piece of form on the clock either.

You’d be taking it on blind faith that he’s going to improve enough to get competitive in a group race on his second outing.

Martyn Meade and Tom Marquand team up with Swayze for his third career run.

Well beaten on debut over 5 furlongs at Nottingham, he was actually beaten by Chimgan convincingly.

He left his debut behind easily when winning at York two weeks ago in stylish fashion. With it only being a recent run the form has yet to be seriously tested but he did post a relatively good looking time at Yarmouth.

Clearly taking a large step forward with experience, he’ll definitely come on again but will need to improve a lot to be troubling the market principles.

John Bridger
Age: 2
Weight: 9-1
OR: 88
Days: 21

John Bridger brings recent handicap winner Arboy Will here.

A shock winner on his debut at a massive 150/1, he had eventual Windsor Castle 2nd Dig Two back in sixth.

Unable to carry his penalty to a second victory, he ran incredibly well to give 8lbs away to Canonized at Windsor in mid June. That form has worked out well since.

Moved into handicap company more recently, the gelding managed to carry top weight on deep ground to defy a mark of 82 with ease

His form has worked out well and he handles soft ground. He only beat 3 rivals on his latest outing but could still have plenty of improvement in him.

Ed Walker
Age: 2

Days: 32

A winner on debut for Ed Walker, Kingboard Star showed plenty of pace and talent to easily win his first outing by 2 lengths.

The colt was well fancied to carry his penalty to success in novice company recently but he only managed 5th.

Giving weight away to the majority of the field at Newcastle was a big ask and he failed to justify odds on favouritism.

Nothing about his last run hinted that he’d have enough talent to get truly competitive in a deep race like this.
