The son of Kingman has been pretty much faultless to date, winning both his starts as a juvenile, starting at Sandown back in August winning a nice maiden and then going on to back that up over the same course and distance.

He made his seasonal debut at Newcastle on the all weather seeing off a stern effort from the Richard Fahey trained Acquitted but off the back of that he improved a massive amount to hunt down Pinatubo late in the day at Royal Ascot in the St James’s Palace Stakes.

Having four wins from four races, he put his unbeaten run on the line in the Group One Jacques Le Marois and in heavy ground cleared away from the field with the Jessica Harrington trained Alpine Star the closest to him.

That set him up perfectly for his final run of the season in the Group One Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on British Champions Day, but unfortunately he had to settle for third and lost his unbeaten record.

Back for another season this term, the four year old was looking to make his seasonal debut in the Group One Lockinge at Newbury, but will instead head to Sandown for this event and will be tough to beat.

Khuzaam last time out was seen landing the All-Weather Championships Conditions Stakes over a mile in extremely taking style when beating the smart Mums Tipple by five lengths

What was so taking about this performance was the way that the gelding took lengths out of the field coming round the bend, looking like he is getting better with age

The son of Kitten's Joy now has form figures of 21122211 on the all weather making him a bit of a specialist and if being able to convert that form to the turf could be a big player.

He looks to have it all to do with Palace Pier, but from his two winning runs this year he has to be a live contender.

Five year old Happy Power seems to have done his best work in softer conditions than this and may be vulnerable against the top two in the market.

The son of Dark Angel has been a superb horse in his own right throughout his career, costing 625,000gns as a yearling and going on to win some nice events.

The Andrew Balding trained horse Last season landed a hat-trick at the back end of the season, taking a conditions stakes at Salisbury before landing a good Group Three at Goodwood and even better Group Two at Newmarket with the form of that being franked.

He was dropped down to six furlongs when last seen in the Group One British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot and it did not suit, but going back to a mile today will see a better run.

He has it all to do with the favourite, but has always been a smart horse and could be the value play.

The final runner of the event is the veteran Bless Him for David Simcock, that will look to pick up the paces off the pace late on under Jamie Spencer.

He has been seen five times already this year, winning nicely at Newcastle over a mile after a break and then heading to Meydan for three runs in better company.

He was outclassed in all three of his events in Dubai, chasing home the likes of Lord Glitters, Zakouski and D'bai in Group Two events.

The son of Sea The Stars was last seen at Lingfield finishing in third behind Khuzaam and he will need to step up a fair but to reverse the form.

Return to turf could be a positive.
