Whenever any horses travels a large distance it is certainly worthy of close consideration, but whenever any Irish yard opt to send their runners over to Britain there is usually reason behind the decision, with connections of any said horse in strong belief their runner has a real chance of putting up a bold showing.
On Wednesday, Classic-winning Irish trainer Ken Condon sends just the one horse across the Irish Sea from his Osborne Lodge stables in the Curragh over to Britain for the British Stallion Studs EBF Eternal Stakes Listed Fillies’ contest at Carlisle.
That horse is THUNDER BEAUTY who since creating a striking impression when winning first time up at the Curragh last July has been highly tried as a consequence, failing to taste success in either of her four subsequent races, albeit against high-class opposition.
However, her latest spin back at the scene of her debut victory was much more encouraging when finishing a staying-on sixth in Group 3 company, and off the back of that performance the return to 7f here against slightly weaker opposition presents a nice opportunity for her to return to the winners enclosure.
The shrewd handler has only ever sent two horses over to Carlisle prior to today with one of those horses winning and the other also returning a place, bringing up a healthy level-stakes profit of £4.50 so with those stats in mind the claims of this talented filly are there for all to see.
