The Charlie Appleby trained Jungle Cat rallied late to swoop in and bob his head in front to take the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes across the pond in Australia.
The Godolphin owned six year old was sent over to Australia to show his skill in the overall plan to earn stud duties and Appleby says that Saturday's victory looks special next to his other top class victory in the Al Quoz Sprint Group 1 in Dubai.
It was also a special occasion for jockey James Doyle who after riding at Yarmouth he went straight to get on a plane to go and ride in Australia where he picked up his first Group 1 in Australia and his seventh of 2018.
However on his previous ride at Caulfield on another Godolphin owned horse in Folkswood, he was given a ban for his ride on board the Gelding.
Jungle Cat's 12/1 victory looked way off at one stage and thats what made this performance extra special as second place Dollar For Dollar went to the front in the last furlong and looked to have enough to go on and win it.
However the fierce six year old got back up just on the line to cause a photo finish and reap the rewards of back to back Group 1s in two different countries.
