A competitive looking novices' handicap chase is the second race on the card at Kempton on Monday. Despite being among the outsiders, Climbing could represent value in the betting.

Jamie Snowden has been in excellent form over the last two weeks, striking at a 21% rate. Gavin Sheehan is booked to ride the six-year-old, who was previously owned by The Queen.

Climbing was sixth on his latest start over fences, which came after finishing third and second at Worcester and Stratford on his first two attempts over the bigger obstacles. Not one to give up on just yet for connections in red-hot form.

The Pertemps Network qualifier is due off at 14:15, with a small field of four runners going to post. Dargiannini has won five from 14 starts over hurdles, and was last seen making his return to action when finishing fifth of eight at Uttoxeter over two miles and four.

Has a win over course and distance to his name after winning this exact qualifier by eleven lengths in 2023.

That was his only win of the season last season after a setback saw him miss the remainder of the season. A tune up run should leave him with every chance to repeat last year's success.
