A competitive Juvenile Hurdle kicks off the card at Kempton on Monday. Anthony Charlton could land the opener with talented three-year-old Moutarde.

Sean Bowen is an eye-catching booking, striking at a 30% rate over the last two weeks. He was a two-time winner from 14 starts on the turf, before switching to hurdles for the Gavin Cromwell team earlier this year.

Made a decent enough appearance on his first start for his new yard at Cheltenham earlier this month, finishing fourth and 24 lengths behind the talented East India Dock.

Should take all the beating at a course that should suit his running style.

The Kim Bailey yard is operating at a 25% strike rate at present, and his solid form could continue at Kempton on Monday.

Salt Rock was a point winner, and has been warming to the task under rules. Returned from a lengthy 352-day break earlier this month, finishing fifth of nine at Chepstow, but was just five lengths behind Royal Infantry.

There should be more to come from this six-year-old, and there is plenty in his favour to suggest that today could be the day that he finally gets his nose in front.

A fascinating Beginners' Chase is due off at 13:30, and there will be close attention on the top two in the betting, as Iberico Lord and Gidleigh Park make their debuts over bigger obstacles.

The preference is for the latter for the Harry Fry team. The six-year-old was a high class hurdler throughout last season, winning three from four starts. His only defeat came when sixth in the Albert Bartlett when appearing failing to stay.

Drops back to two miles and two for his chase debut, and could prove the best of these as chasing has been the long-term aim for connections.

Joe Tizzard's yard are in excellent form at present, striking at a 32% rate over the last two weeks.

Brendan Powell is booked to take the ride on Bourbali, who was a winner on this card 12 months ago.

Made an impressive re-appearance after a 167-day break over a mile and two at Kempton last month, producing a bold front-running display to beat Frere d'Armes by a length.

Jumped perfectly on that day, and a repeat performance very much makes him the one to beat on Monday.
