The William Jarvis trained Lady Bowthorpe has been a revelation for the yard this term and having now mixed it with the best milers in the division this season, she is set to go up against just her own sex in the Group One Falmouth Stakes.
The five year old mare has turned into a different horse this season, having always been a nice mare landing races like the Group Three Valiant Fillies' Stakes over course and distance at Ascot, but this term she has taken her form to a new level.
She started this season off in the Group Two Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket over 9f on quick ground and went on to win well.
The progressive stable star for Jarvis backed that up next time out when giving a career best performance to chase home Palace Pier in the Group One Lockinge Stakes.
The pair on the day went well clear of the third and then further clear of the rest of the field and that effort put her into favourite for the Group Two Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Again she had to settle for second with the big outsider Indie Angel for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori stealing the show up the inside.
Jarvis is now looking to head back into Group One company with his stable star and going up against her own sex could see her strike Group One glory.

“Providing the ground isn’t too quick, she’ll go for the Falmouth Stakes at the July meeting.”
