The Richard Hughes trained Brentford Hope is the current favourite for the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster which kickstarts the flat season and the handler reveals that is horse is in fine form ahead of the curtain raiser.
The former champion jockey turned trainer has always been extremely bullish about this horse and from his debut in October 2019 you can see why, when the son of Camelot bolted up under a cool ride by Jamie Spencer in a Maiden Stakes.
Since that the run the horse has found it hard to match that form with some placed runs when stepped up in trip.
However, when last seen the four year old got back to winning ways when dropped down to a mile at Haydock in a Class 3 Handicap, but now Hughes believes he has got him exactly how he would want him ahead of his return in the Lincoln.

“He’s not done a flat-out gallop yet, but he’s getting there. He’s a month away from being ready!”
Jamie Spencer has ridden Brentford Hope in all his five starts to date, and is likely to be continue the association if he is available.
“If Jamie is not in Dubai I suppose he will ride him,” Hughes added.
