Listed Rosemary Stakes Newmarket Guide 2024

William Haggas saddles the first runner in the Listed Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket this Friday in the form of his filly Doom. The four-year-old arrives here on the back of finishing sixth of 11 in the G3 Sceptre Fillies Stakes at Doncaster last time out, when priced at 13/2.

She has been in poor form over her last couple of runs, and has failed to record a victory since winning a Listed race over six furlongs at Fontainebleau back in November last year.

She can do better and must be respcted, but she needs a big step up on recent form in truth.

David Menuisier saddles one runner in the Listed Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket this Friday in the form of his four-year-old Sirona, who will be ridden by Ryan Moore. The filly arrives here on the back of finishing second of eight in a listed race at ParisLongchamp last time out.

She last recorded a victory for former trainer Charlie Johnston at Ayr in October last year, in a class three race and has since recorded form figures of 832562.

She's been fairly consistent of late and enters calculations.

John and Thady Gosden have one horse in the Rosemary Stakes this week at Newmarket, sending their three-year-old Spiritual to the contest on the back of the filly finishing fourth at Sandown in the G3 Atalanta Stakes lto.

She has won twice in her career so far, at Leicester and Sandown but arrives here on the back of two slightly disappointing outings at Deauville and Sandown.

She has obvious talent and she will be able to figure here if back to her best in the hands of Kieran Shoemark.

Jane Chapple-Hyam has one runner here at Newmarket in the Listed Rosemary Stakes in the form of Rolica. The three-year-old is one of the lesser experienced horses in the race, with five runs to her name so far.

During those five runs, she has won once, actually here in a class two race but arrives at this contest having finished sixth, fifth and fifth at Newmarket, Chantilly and Sandown on her latest outings at this sort of level.

She could do better back down in class with Willim Buick booked to ride.

Charlie Johnston's sole runner in the Listed Rosemary Stakes at Newmarket this week is Arisaig. The three-year-old arrives at Newmarket after a sixth-place finish in a handicap at Leopardstown earlier this month, when priced at 13/2.

That run had followed a disappointing outing at York in a class two race, after winning a class three handicap at Goodwood in July. She makes her first start at this sort of level here.

She cannot be discounted, although has a bit to find with others who have raced at this level before.

The penultimate runner in the Rosemary Stakes on Friday at Newmarket is Fair Point, trained by Ralph Beckett. The three-year-old brings some good form into the race, with figures of 21331 over her last five outings an impressive run of performances.

She has never finished outside the top three in her career so far, and has won nicely on a couple of occasions. The only negative coming into this would be that she has never run at this level.

However, that's not to say she could continue that form up in class and she must be taken seriously.

The final runner in the opening race on Friday's Newmarket card is Noisy Jazz, trained by James Owen. The three-year-old arrives at the Rosemary Stakes following a third-place finish at Windsor last time out.

She's a bit greener compared to a few here, having only raced three times. She won here on debut in a class four before stepping into this sort of company at York in August, finishing sixth before that run at Windsor.

She's probably got some more improving to do but up against it here up in class again.
