The leading mare of the middle distance division on the flat for Aidan O'Brien looks set to be heading over Sha Tin next month to take part in the Group One Hong Kong Cup.
Magical made a stellar return to racing having been thought to be heading for retirement, Coolmore operations have given her one more season on the track and it has looked to have paid dividends after she romped home on seasonal debut in the Group One Pretty Polly Stakes.
She backed that up in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at The Curragh and although it was not the strongest race it saw her land a hat-trick of black type events.
She took on Ghaiyyath in the Juddmonte International and was no match for the Godolphin, but reversed the form last time out when landing consecutive Irish Champion Stakes.
Looking for back to back renewals of the British Champion Stakes she headed to Ascot where the heavy ground did not help her cause and she had to settle for third behind mud lover Addeybb.
The Breeders Cup Turf was next on the agenda and having finished a narrow second to Enable in the 2018 renewal, many thought she could go one better.
However, it was fellow Irish raider Tarnawa who stole the show, coming on the outside of Magical to sweep the field and beat the mare by a length back in second.
The Hong Kong Cup in December will see her off jet-setting again and with her form during her career, plus being a seven time Group One winner, she should not be far away.

“She’s still in full work at the moment and that’s what we are looking at the minute.
“She ran very well in America, we were very happy with her at the Breeders’ Cup.”
