⚫ Newbury (14:25) - New Order
⚫ Newbury (15:00) - Bucephalus
⚫ Newbury (15:35) - Apple Away
New Order is the runner from the Charlie Longsdon yard in the 14:25 at Newbury today.
David Bass is booked to take the ride on the seven-year-old, who has won once from two efforts over fences. Jumped very smoothly on his return following wind surgery last month, beating Roger Rarebit by seven lengths over three miles at Warwick.
Entitled to come on again from that effort, and holds an obvious chance.
Bucephalus represents the in-form Neil Mulholland yard at Newbury today.
The eight-year-old has won once from eleven starts over hurdles, and confidence could be gained from his recent effort. His second at Chepstow over two miles in December was a career-best effort, posting an RPR of 119.
That is an interesting form line today, and a repeat of that front-running display could make him hard to beat at Newbury.
Apple Away is an interesting contender in the competitive Mares' Chase, due off at 15:35.
The eight-year-old mare for Lucinda Russell has won twice from eight starts over fences, but has finished outside of the places on just two efforts.
She was last seen finishing second behind Marsh Wren over three miles at Market Rasen. Should strip fitter from that effort, and today's slog looks set to suit her chances.
