On Sunday, one trainer will be looking to land a winner over in Durham, sending just the one runner on a 564 mile round trip over to Sedgefield from his yard down in Glamorgan, Wales.
Whenever we see any yard travel a fair way with one of their runners we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be travelling all that distance if they did not believe they have a real chance of collecting some prize money along the way.
The trainer in question is Christian Williams who boasts a highly impressive 50% strike rate (4-8) and 75% place rate (6-8) at Sedgefield, whilst also operating at a 29% win rate with horses travelling at least this distance.
He recently acquired Cage Of Fear from the Fergal O'Brien stable, however the runner has yet to fire in three chase starts for his new trainer and has subsequently seen his mark drop to a mere rating of 102, an attractive 13lbs below his last winning mark.
The son of Milan now also drops into a class 5 for the first time and looks sure to relish the step down into a lower grade off a career low mark.
Big opportunity to bounce back today and the trainer may have just found him the perfect race to do so.
